The citizens of Akita City have been enjoying Satomi’s hot springs for more than 90 years.
There are two sources for its springs, the original source “Akita Onsen Motoyu”, and the newer one “Satomi Onsen ” , which was introduced in 2013.
“Akita Onsen Motoyu” is clear, salty, slimy, and silky, while Satomi Onsen is brownish-red with a tint of yellow and has a salter taste than the original hot spring.
These two different hot springs can both be enjoyed in the main bathing area.
