A Catholic convent located on a hill in Soegawa some distance from Akita Station. The cathedral is a classical Japanese-style structure built by carpenters specializing in temple and shrine construction. It houses the Blessed Virgin Mary Statue, which is said to have shed tears 101 times from 1975 to 1981, and the Saint Joseph Statue.
The Garden of Mary, a Japanese garden built as a tribute to the Holy Mother, is available for anyone to enter and pray.
