Akita Araya Glass Studio is a space for training people who will work with the local residents to improve the area in an environment where anyone can experience craftsmanship including glass blowing. It opened on July 15, 2017, as a place where young glass artists can devote themselves to their creations every day as they strive to go independent in Akita.

You can view and purchase works created by the in-house artists as well as outside glass artists at the store located in the Studio.
The café serves  beverages and light meals using original glasses and plates created in the studio, so you can actually try the products beforehand and then perhaps make a purchase in the store if you find something you like.

Availability: morning: 3 people (one bench), afternoon: 4 people (one bench)

Workshop cost: 3,300 yen (including tax)
participant: junior high school students and older (junior high school students must be accompanied by a guardian)
