Cherry Blossom Festival in Senshu Park




Senshu Park is the site of the castle ruins of the Satake family of the 200,000-goku Akita Domain. The park is also one of the top 100 locations in Japan for viewing cherry blossoms.

Senshu Park boasts about 700 cherry trees, including an approximately 120-year-old Somei-Yoshino cherry trees. The cherry trees are lit up at night. During the festival, the park walkways are lined with various stalls in addition to the shop in Ninomaru. The stalls bustle with cherry blossom viewers.
